METROPOLIS – FESTIVAL FOR ART AND PERFORMANCE IN URBAN SPACE
The Metropolis Festival 2015 programme is out. 12-30 August we explore Copenhagen, disrupt the routines and stage the city and its buildings beyond recognition. Together with 18 Danish and international companies we’ve found 18 unique locations in the city. Some of them you’ll know, some you won’t, and some are about to disappear, but during the month of August they form the setting of the Metropolis Festival.
Put on your hiking boots and get ready for performances, walks and installations from a.o. Barcelona, Amsterdam, Toulouse, Vienna, Beijing and Copenhagen. They will bring you across the city, out on the water and into private homes.
In a time when we’re challenged in terms of unity, diversity and free dialogue, Metropolis places you right in the centre of arts. To just lean back and observe is not an option. The artists will put you in the shoes of refugees, sweatshop workers, and of your neighbour. Join the party, help create new dreams and challenge your limitations.
