Theatre Bristol Bulletin: 23rd April 2015 (goodbye my lover)
The sun is shining, the tank is clean and this is my last Newsletter for Theatre Bristol, as my internship is coming to an end! Big up to the TB crew massive, you’ve been super amazing and I will miss you all. Anyway, before I break out into a James Blunt song, let’s get cracking with the letter of news.
Item one on the agenda is Testing Ground: Experiments in Dance 2015, an awesome platform for dance performers to share their works in progress. Theatre Bristol are supporting the event, so get on down toCircomedia on the 7th May and check it out! A pineapple is involved.
More dancing now as DanceFest takes over the Bristol Old Vic. Performances include: Asking For It by PINCH and The Happiness by Karla Shacklock Company.Catch them both tonight! and Friday. Mate, I’m there.
Check out Sylvia Rimat’s This Moment Now on the 30th April at theUniversity of Bath. Expect live drumming and a cup of tea. Sounds flippin’ amazin!!! See details here!Cool job alert. Pavilion Dance South West are looking for a Programming and Producing Manager. Get applying before 13th May and drop it like it’s hot!
Next, in a unique collaboration, Battersea Arts Centre have teamed up with the BBC and Arts Council England to commission a series of theatre projects for live television. They’re inviting independent theatre makers to apply before 27th April. Go, go, go!
Fancy a challenge? How about a 48 hour challenge? Well, The Big Act arecalling for young performers, aged 8-21 years, to take part in WE WILLROCK YOU, an exciting full scale production at the Bristol Hippodrome. Auditions are on the 1st and 2nd May. Get kickin’ your can all over the place, with mud on ya face, perhaps.
Let’s cruise with some news as The Wardrobe Theatre have announced that they are moving-huzzah! To a bigger and better place-even more huzzahs! They do, however need your support and have launched a fundraising campaign to raise money for the new digs.Help build the new Wardrobe Theatre here.
Finally, being a fellow Brummy, I’ve got to mention Bees In a Tin’s call for contributors for a happening in June ‘15. They’re looking for people to present interesting and exciting things. If you can get yourself to Birmingham, then take a look, it’s cool. Submit something before 29th April. Buzz buzz.
Theatre Bristol, you’re beautiful, it’s true. You have been the one for me.
Rosanna (Team TB forever!)
