Our petition to ask Havering Borough Council to rethink their proposals to criminalise busking and other activities in Romford through a wide-ranging and controversial PSPO has been signed by over 1600 people in just over 10 days. Havering Borough Council are hosting an online consultation on their proposals which closes tomorrow. The Keep Streets Live Campaign has published a response to Havering's proposals and we have suggested viable alternatives that do not involve criminalising busking and have worked well in other local authority areas. Here is a link to our response:
It would be a great help if you could add your voice to the online consultation and join us in asking Havering to think again. If you click on our article you will see a direct link to their online survey which can be completed in 10 minutes. You could use our response as a reference point if you found it helpful. The more people who take the time to do this, the more chance we have of demonstrating that there is a constructive to their proposals that can work for the benefit of everyone and ensure that Romford continues to enjoy a vibrant and creative street whilst addressing the genuine concerns of residents and businesses.
Thank you for your support and for taking the time to read this,
